SeaPals
RRP: $11.95 each

Have your child create his or her own virtual sea world with these Webkinz-like plush creatures.

SeaPalsWorld.com introduces kids to ocean life, with fun and educational facts lurking around every coral reef. The virtual environment is well laid out, easy to navigate, and features games and activities that kids really enjoyed during our testing.

On visiting the Great Reef, kids learn interesting and fun facts about seahorses, sharks, turtles and other sea life.  Each time they click on a sea creature, a short paragraph pops up detailing how each organism lives, what it eats, and how it survives in the wild.

This new range of toys and the virtual world are compelling to K through 4th graders.  The 6” long plush are cute and huggable and the quizzes pose a good challenge, enabling kids to earn Pearl Points which they can then use to customize their underwater world.

You can choose to keep your SeaPals character in your aquarium or have it jump out into the ocean, where they can play games, chat with other fish in the sea, and explore reefs and ship wrecks for hidden treasures.

There are currently 16 creatures in the plush catalog, with more certain to follow. Choices include Reef Shark, Manta Ray, Sea Horse, Sea Turtle, Dolphin, Powder Blue Tang, Octopus, Puffer Fish, and Starfish

Also at pharmacies and other local retailers
